DACUM is an acronym for Developing A Curriculum and is an internationally recognized job/ occupational analysis technique that is widely used by industry practitioners, educators and consultants to effectively identify the duties, tasks, and related information required for a job/ occupation. It also provides an excellent source of data for management decision-making, developing training program, human resource development, career planning, needs assessment, test development, job redesign, performance evaluations, and quality control planning.  DACUM workshop focuses on one profession that works in community and has interaction with possible gang related crimes, or results of youngsters being involved in gang activities. The purpose is to identify a competency profile in the area of gang intervention: what the selected profession should know, do and understand in able to be efficient in helping to community to counteract the gang phenomenon.
